Apple Issues Fix To App Store For How Apps Are Listed
July 17, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Apple has come out and fixed the alphabetical listing for the App Store, changing how iPhone and iPod Touch developers will be naming software.
Users have been reporting that many developers have been placing certain characters at the start of their applications to get them to the top of the list in certain categories.
This caused a great deal of aggravation to developers who followed the rules as they were supposed to.
Apple has since come out and fixed the problem, as these applications with the extra characters are now in their proper spots.
This is a good thing too, especially since as of Monday more than 10 million applications were downloaded from the App Store.
The App Store is proving to mean big business for developers, and iPhone, as well as iPod Touch users, are loving checking out the apps.
Apple has made a clear effort to keep it fair for all developers.
