Apple Manages To Sell 5 Million iPhone 3Gs In Quarter
September 23, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Apple is clearly doing well with the iPhone 3G sales, as they have already sold 5 million devices in the current quarter.
The news comes from Piper Jaffray, which stated that Apple has sold 5 million iPhone 3G units this quarter alone.
In the first weekend of its release, Apple announced that the sales of the iPhone 3G had already surpassed 1 million.
Since then, that number has increased greatly to 5 million units sold.
Apple is set to release their own official figures in about a month in their Q4 report.
The goal for Apple is to sell 10 million iPhone devices by the end of 2008.
Currently, they are at around 7.5 million as they sold 2.5 million of the original iPhones during the first six months of 2008.
Apple needs another 2.5 million through the holiday season to reach their goal.
