Spring is the time of year when graduation ceremonies are held across the country. Many Universities will ask a well-known person to give the commencement address to graduating seniors. Some famous quotes have been produced from these speeches.
Winston Churchill gave a commencement address to his alma mater in 1941 in which he said,”‘Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never,in nothing, great or small, large or petty, never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
Stanford University was the school where Steve Jobs offered this remark in 2005,”Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma–which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.”
