Sprint Gets Faster With Mobile High Speed Network
March 11, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - Sprint is upgrading one of the most popular mobile phone models it has so that it can be allowed to run on the faster mobile high speed network, EV-DO Rev.
Sprint currently runs EV-DO Rev on its laptop cards. To date though, its mobile phones have been running on the slower and much older EV-DO Rev. 0 network.
This means that those who take on the new phone, the Mogul phone, will experience some lightning fast data transfers.
It is expected that the mobile high speed network will allow download speeds to double, and upload speeds to increase over eight times what they were on the old network.
The Mogul phone will be able to pull in downloads at anywhere from 600 kb/s to 1,400 kb/s.
This compares to only 400 kb/s to 700 kb/s on the old network.
Uploads are expected to be 350 kb/s to 500 kb/s. Compare this to the extremely low 50 kb/s on the old network and you will see the huge speed difference of the Mogul.
