AT&T Set To Launch MediaFlo Mobile TV In May
March 27, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - AT&T Inc. has announced that they are set to launch MediaFlo mobile TV this coming May.
AT&T made the announcement on Thursday that they are working with MediaFlo USA to bring the service this May to its mobile users.
The first phones to support the mobile TV service include LG Electronics’ Vu phone, as well as the Access from Samsung Electronics Co.
AT&T, along with MediaFlo, stated two exclusive channels are planned for their customers.
This puts AT&T in direct competition with Verizon Wireless once again, who had their mobile TV service up and running about a year ago.
Qualcomm, the maker of MediaFlo, hopes that the service will expand in the coming years as more and more consumers watch TV on their handsets.
