AT&T Stores Will Be First To Use Microsoft Surface
April 2, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Wireless provider AT&T has announced that they will be the first company to use the Microsoft touch-screen technology, known as Surface.
Microsoft Surface was made public not too long ago and features new touch-screen technology from the software giant.
AT&T will be using the Surface in their retail stores on the sales floor.
The idea is that it will be a unique and interactive way for customers to look at the mobile devices offered by the provider.
AT&T will allow consumers to play on the Surface, check out features for phones, coverage areas, plans, etc.
Microsoft Surface fits perfectly with this design, as it can pick up what is placed on it.
So if a customer is looking at an AT&T phone, they can place it on the Surface and it will pick up the device, displaying information about it.
The first AT&T stores in New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, and San Antonio will have the Surface starting on April 19.
It will likely expand from there to all 2000+ stores.
