Android has the capability to feature a touch-screen interface similar to the iPhone, and is being touted as the first open-source software Google is trying to push on cell phones.

There are already 34 partners lined up to use Android including LG and Samsung.

Having software such as this across many phones will allow cell phone consumers to have some consistency when they go to buy a phone, as it will be similar to a Windows OS on computers, it is all the same.

One of the most unique features is the ability to unlock your handset by drawing a symbol on the touch-screen instead of typing in a password.

Android also features a built-in compass to help with navigation and such.

Other features shown off on Anroid phones include a tool to zoom in on Web pages, play games such as Pac Man, and more.

Google has still not given a final release date.
