AT&T Extends Exclusive Deal For Apple iPhone Through 2010
August 4, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - According to reports, AT&T has signed an extension on a deal with Apple, as they will continue to be the exclusive provider of the iPhone through 2010 in the U.S.
According to a report released by USA Today, the original deal between Apple and AT&T was for 2-years.
This would have meant that once 2009 was over, the exclusive deal for the iPhone would be dead as well.
Their deal has been extended though it appears, as AT&T will now be the exclusive provider of the iPhone until 2010.
The idea behind the deal extension was that with the iPhone 3G released, there was no point to ending the contract in 2009.
This deal shows the good relations now developed between the companies as well, AT&T and Apple.
