Google Android SDK Updated, FCC Approves HTC Dream
August 19, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - It has been a big week already for the Google Android mobile software platform to say the least. Not only had the Google Android SDK been updated, but the FCC has approved the first Google Android for sale in the U.S., the HTC Dream.
The FCC made it clear Monday that they approved the sale of the HTC DREA100 model for sale in the U.S., also known as the HTC Dream.
What this means is that T-Mobile can now get ready to launch the HTC Dream in the U.S. this fall, for the big holiday shopping season.
The HTC Drema will be the first mobile phone to run on the Google Android OS, and is likely to launch in late October or early November.
Following the news of the FCC approval for the first Android phone, more news came out.
Google announced that they have released the Google Android SDK 0.9, meaning they are now one step away from the final Android 1.0 release.
The new features in the SDK add many new applications, such as a music player, camera, messaging, alarm clock, and much more.
More details are likely to be revealed soon in regards to the HTC Dream launch.
