Apple, AT&T Working Out New iPhone Tethering Plan
September 1, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - According to reports, Apple is in talks with U.S. wireless carrier AT&T to allow a new tethering plan to iPhone 3G users.
The new plan would be an added option for iPhone 3G users, as they could purchase an upgraded data plan, allowing their 3G connection over the iPhone to be used, and shared with a laptop computer.
The topic of tethering with the iPhone has been a hot one ever since the release of NetShare from NullRiver.
The company released the app on the App Store, but was quickly taken down after AT&T was not pleased.
It appears though that AT&T and Apple are now working out details to officially allow tethering for users.
There is no word on what a price point for something of this nature would be, but an announcement is expected soon.
