VMware Ready To Launch Virtualization For Mobile Phones
November 12, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - VMware has announced that they are getting ready to launch their Mobile Virtualization Platform for mobile phones.
The idea behind this is to allow VMware to break into the mobile phone market.
They are trying to do so by working directly with mobile phone vendors to have the technology already instaleld right onto the mobile phones.
VMware has yet to announce any of the names of vendors theya re currently working with.
So what is this going to bring to mobile phones? It would allow phones to run multiple operating systems, multiple profiles, store data nd files easier, etc.
They hope to have the first phones that support their technology ready to release by late 2009 or early 2010.
