Nearly 50% Of Adults Need Help With Computer, Cell Phone
November 17, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - According to a new survey released by the non-profit Paw Research Center, nearly 50% of adults in the U.S. need help using their computer and cell phone.
The survey was conducted with over 2,000 adults by telephone in late 2007.
Researchers found that 48% of adults made it very clear they had no idea how to set up their computer or cell phone.
Instead, they needed to ask someone else for help to try and show them how to use it.
On top of that, 40% of adults stated that their computer broke once in the last year, while 44% had trouble with their Internet connection.
Other findings include 29% of adults confirming they had problems with their cell phone in the past 12 months as well.
One startling number though is that 15% of those with problems were not able to fix devices, and actually ended up giving up on even trying.
