According to a new report, the Apple iPhone App Store is leaving competitors such as the Google Android Marketplace in the dust.<br /> ....Boston (dbTechno) - According to a new report, the Apple iPhone App Store is leaving competitors such as the Google Android Marketplace in the dust.

The report was released by the Global Intelligence Alliance Group (GIA) as they compared software sales through the App Store to the Google Android Marketplace and others.

Other competitors included the Microsoft SkyMarket for Windows Mobile, the BlackBerry Apps Storefront, and others.

The Apple App Store managed to win out in just about every single category that they measured.

These categories included thing such as price of the apps, timeliness, variety of applications, etc.

Since the July 2008 launch of the App Store, there have been more than 15,000 applications added to it.

These span from just about every category to appeal to any type of iPhone user.

Apple received a rating of strong in terms of time to market, interface, user experience, etc.
