Jackass Presents: Mat Hoffman’s Tribute to Even Knievel, put together by the Jackass crew, is basically a film with a bunch or daredevils trying to break world bike records and other stunts. The entire film is shot in an open field, which is pretty intriguing as these types of stunts are usually set up indoors with well timed and rehearsed stunts.

This film came about when Matt Hoffman, a friend of the late Evil Kneivel approached the Jackass crew to put together a series of events that included everything from BMX tricks to motorcycle jumps and even a stunt man that jumps out of a plane without a parachute. Believe it or not there was only one injury!

There are a few records that are broken during this pieced together and “shifty” film. The records broken were: the longest tandem jump, as well as a tandem flip when Midget Mike jumps onto the bike with Trigger Gumm and Travis Pastrana. They also attempted this jump with a Harley, but the bikes weight was too much for the jump.

Another highlight is Scott Palmer, who jumps out of a plane without a parachute and flies to another person who has a parachute and latches on with them. It is a pretty exciting part of the film.

The quality of the audio and video is pretty respectable considering that this is a Jackass presentation. Video is presented in 1.85:1 widescreen, with audio in Dolby Digital 2.0.

The one injury comes at the end of the movie when the group is just basically doing random tricks and Johnny Knoxville lands on his crotch while flipping a bike and is rushed to the hospital and is treated for a torn urethra.

Features:
Thoughts on Evel Knievel
Behind the Scenes
Travis Pastrana Pit Sessions
Knoxville’s Hospital Visit
Tattoo Montage
Mat Hoffman’s Career Retrospective
Photo Gallery

Special features include the Knoxville trip to the hospital, interviews with Matt Hoffman as he talks about how Evil Kneivel influenced him.

If you are a Jackass fan, this movie may seem a little different to you, because it is put together a little bit more professionally.

It does, however include all of the crazy stunts (and antics) that make the Jackass productions what they are.

Definitely recommended for Jackass fans!

Content: 8.2 Worth it for Jackass fans, plenty of quality material.

Video: 7.0 Just standard video quality, nothing over-the-top but it works.

Audio: 6.0
Dolby Digital 2.0, sounds about as you would expect just average.

Special Features: 7.8
Some nice extras here fans should appreciate.

Final Score: 7.8
