Released: September 23, 2008
Brothers and Sisters came back for its second season with a bang, pushing the series forward with engrossing story plots and characters along the way. The second season of the show has been released on the DVD format from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, but is it worth buying?
Brothers and Sisters, for those who do not know, is a series which revolves around the Walker family. The second season picks up where the first left off, as many secrets of the family begin to be revealed for the first time.
Their father is gone, and it is now up to the kids of the family to pick up the pieces and move forward, carrying on the family legacy, business, etc.
The series is terrific in the way it pushes the idea of problems which real families face every single day. If you are close to your family, you will surely be able to relate their problems with some you face every day.
The second season, on top of the great episodes and story, features some solid guest stars as well. These include Chevy Chase, Danny Glover, and others.
The second season features plenty of drama and emotion throughout the 16 episodes.
The audio and video quality are definitely above average, as they are very impressive considering this is a TV-to-DVD transfer.
As for the bonus features, you get some nice extras here. Things start off with an envelope included which reveals some Walker family recipes, a nice little addition.
On top of that, you also get a series of bloopers, outtakes, as well as deleted scenes.
The extras really do a great job of taking you behind-the-scenes to check out all of the guest stars, story, etc.
Overall, Brothers and Sisters enjoyed a great second season, and that has translated well over to this DVD release. This series continues to impress, and is a worthy addition to any DVD library.
Episodes: 8.5 The overall story is fantastic, plenty of drama and solid character development throughout the season.
Video: 8.5 A great transfer, terrific colors, flesh tones, etc.
Audio: 8.5 Very impressive in how it puts forth a high-quality level of audio.
Extras: 8.0 A worthy set of extras to add to the great season.
Final Score: 8.4
