The Tortoise and the Hare is one of my all-time favorites in terms of animated classics, and it has been released on a new DVD by Disney.

The Tortoise and the Hare headlines one of the latest releases in the Walt Disney Animated Collection.

It is a classic story nonetheless and one that you will immediately remember once you go back and watch it for the first time.

Even beyond that release, there are plenty of other classics added in here as well, making it overall a very well-balanced and strong release.

The other shorts included here are Babes In The Woods, The Saga of Windwagon Smith, The Goddess of Spring, Toby Tortoise Returns, and Paul Bunyan.

The audio and video quality here are fairly strong considering the age of the release.  The audio is presented in a front-heavy Dolby Digital mix, while the video is presented in 1.33:1 aspect ratio.

Out of the three releases as part of this collection on DVD, this is by far my favorite as The Tortoise and the Hare is a great animated short, well-worth the purchase despite the lack of extras.
