BET and Paramount have released Dough Boys, the hit drama from the television network on DVD for the first time.
Dough Boys was a show that was produced by BET, and was directed by Nicholas Harvell.
The film does a good job of really showcasing the streets, if you will, with plenty of violence, fowl language, sex, etc.
There is a war going on between two groups, one led by Corey (Arlen Escarpeta) and the other led by Julian (Wood Harris).
The film showcases the relationships of these men, as well as their female counterparts.
To say I just didn’t understand Dough Boys would be an understatement.
The story plot here never really played out, as the only thing that was clear was that the director wanted to do his best to make sure you knew that on the streets, sex, violence, and bad language reigned supreme.
To be honest, you have better things to do with your time than to check out Dough Boys.
Film: 3.0 Horrible, no story, bad attempt at being “street.”
Video: 7.0 Video transfer gets the job done I guess.
Audio: 6.0 Too front-heavy, especially with all the violent scenes.
Extras: 0.0 Nothing here.
Final Score: 4.0
