Mike Judge is back at it again, as the creator of Office Space and other hilarious films has come out with his latest work, Extract, on the high-def Blu-ray format.

The film is basically Office Space, except with the fact that it has moved out of the maze of cubes, and into an assembly line.

There is plenty of workplace comedy to be had starring Joel (Jason Bateman) who is sick of his job, his life, etc.

The film has a well-thought-out story plot as something goes wrong at Joel’s manufacturing plant, when an employee gets injured, leading to all sorts of issues.

This is a very smart film and those who enjoyed his other works such as Office Space will love this one.

The film is presented in 1080p in 1.85:1 aspect ratio on Blu-ray, and also comes with both English and French audio tracks.

The audio and video are well-done but since this is a comedy do not expect too much over-the-top use of your home theater here.

The extras are very straight-forward with some exclusive Blu-ray stuff including deleted scenes and extended scenes.

There is also a little featurette looking into the making of a Mike Judge film.

Fans of Judge’s work will enjoy Extract, but those who were not fans of his past films will find little entertainment here. This one is poised to be another cult favorite.

Film: 7.8

Video: 8.4

Audio: 8.2

Extras: 7.0

Final Score: 7.4
