Surrogates
DVD Review
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment
Released: January 2010
Surrogates was one of those movies that looked extremely cool when you saw the trailer, and left you hoping that the actual movie would live up to the hype. Now that the film has hit Blu-ray and DVD, some of those questions can be answered.
Surrogates stars Bruce Willis and revolves around the idea that everyone in the world is basically a robot.
The whole premise is that you live your life through this Surrogate.
You sit down in this machine that reminds you of The Matrix, and you take over your Surrogate body.
Once there, you are free to do whatever you want, and experience everything through this other being.
This is a very interesting notion, and one that makes for a great sci-fi flick revolving around FBI agent Tom Greer, played by Bruce Willis.
The DVD release packs minimal extras unfortunately, leaving a lot to be desired.
The only extraso n the DVD release include a music video by Breaking Benjamin, as well as an audio commentary track by director Jonathan Mostow.
Surrogates is a very fun and entertaining sci-fi action film that fans of movies such as I, Robot will have a blast with, definitely worth a rental at the very least.
