There has always been problems with people who want to take their laptops and other electronic devices with them where there is rugged terrain and maybe not so pleasant weather. If it is pouring outside with rain you may not want to pack your laptop in a cloth case and go playing in the puddles. The same can be said about going on a boat, a dessert, a hike, or anywhere else with a laptop.
Enter the Otterbox Laptop Case. Priced at $169, the Otterbox Laptop case allows users the opportunity to protect their investment with great ease and security. Things which were not possible in the past with soft cases are now possible with this strong laptop case from Otterbox.
The name Otterbox has been linked directly to cases which allow you to keep your electronic devices waterproof, and this is no different.
The case can be used to protect laptops, mobile PCs, Tablet PCs, etc.
The appearance of the Otterbox laptop case is actually pretty impressive. At first glance it looks like a high-tech briefcase. It is constructed in black and comes with a carrying strap. On the top of the case there is a very rugged rubber handle as well as two hinges to keep the case air-tight and safe from anything getting in it.
The case measures in at 14.2″ wide by 11.2″ deep and 1.9″ thick internally. That is the maximum dimensions of a laptop for this case.
The external dimensions of the case are 16.375″ x 14.5″ x 3.375″.
Though the case is not intended to be used under the water it can withstand being dropped in a puddle or having pourin water douse it repeatedly.
The case comes with rubber bumpers which attack to the velcro base of the laptop on the inside. This allows you to adjust the case internally to fit the size of your laptop. This allows for a snug fit which will keep it from banging around when you pack it up for mobile use.
To test out the ability if it being waterproof we placed a fully functional and working Toshiba 15″ laptop in the case, sealed it up, and threw it in a jacuzzi with the water temperature around 95 degrees. We let it sit in there for about 10 seconds, pulled it out, opened up the case, and the laptop was totally dry. There was not 1 drop of water left inside.
The point of this product is to keep your laptop safe at all costs and it does that extremely well. It may be a bit of an investment at the price of $169 but you have to think of it like you are buying a warranty almost. For businessmen or people who travel quite a bit and want to protest their investment, the Otterbox Laptop case is a great buy!
Overall Score: 8.5 - dbTechno highly recommends this product to protect your laptop, Otterbox has a fantastic product here!
