Slim-Fast Shakes Recalled Due to Harmful Bacteria
December 4, 2009

Boston (DbTechNo) - Certain types of Slim-Fast ready-to-drink meal replacement shakes are being recalled in Canada and various US states over fears that they maybe contaminated with bacteria.
According to a statement released by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the products, which come in singles, 4 , 6 or 12 packs maybe contaminated with a type of bacteria called Bacillus cereus.
Consumers are being urged to throw away the shakes if they have them in their posession and to avoid consuming them.
The agency says that the likelyhood of a person falling ill from drinking an infected product is slim, but that recalling the product is the best alternative at this time.
All products are being recalled, regardless of flavor or lot number, but the recall does not apply to other Slim-Fast products.
People who do drink the effected shakes may experience diarrhea and or nausea/vomiting.
