They managed to sting firefighters, police, as well as drivers.

Firefighters and police had to quickly be on the scene to try and contain the bees.

It was a scary situation to say the least though, as many of them ended up being stung by the bees. It is estimated that anywhere from 10 to 16 million bees escaped from the truck when it tipped on the highway.

Bee handlers were brought out to try and control the bees.

It took them almost ten hours to finish the job, as they were trying to calm the bees down using various techniques.

They did eventually manage to get the bees back into their crates, and onto new vehicles to continue transportation.

Authorities had to warn drivers the entire time to roll up their windows and to turn off their air conditioning to prevent the bees from being sucked in. Local businesses were also forced to close their doors.

Over 400 colonies of bees were spilled in all.
