1,000 Pound Squid Has Largest Eyes In The Animal Kingdom

Washington (dbTechno) – Scientists have been studying the carcass of a 1,000 pound squid which is the length of a school bus. After thawing out the squid, New Zealand scientists have concluded that it has the largest eyes in the world.

The eyes of the squid measured in at 27 centimeters, or 10.8 inches across.

Researchers have been working for a few days to fully thaw out the squid from a block of ice.

This was all being done at the national musuem of New Zealand, Te Papa.

Scientists stated that this is the only intact eye ever found of a giant squid.

They also have been studying the squid to determine the type of tissue on it, the sex of the animal, its stomach, diet, etc.

After they are done studying it they will be putting it on display in a natural position at the musuem.
