Norfolk (dbTechno) - A tornado ripped through North Carolina on Thursday night, overturning tractor-trailers and card. Emergency crews are on the scene Friday to try and assess the damage. It has been confirmed that the tornado killed one person and injured three others.
Cars and tractor-trailers were flipped on Interstate 40 in North Carolina.
Some buildings were collapsed, as were homes in the central part of the state.
The tornado was first reported at around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday night. The tornado was spotted near the Piedmont Triad International Airport, next to Greensboro.
Three plans at the airport were damaged as the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning.
This was not the end though, as another tornado was also reported near Clemmons, North Carolina, leaving over 30,000 people with no power.
The person who died was a man who had his truck overturned by the intense winds.
The other 3 injured are reportedly stable and do not have life-threatening injuries.
