Corrosive, Acidified Ocean Water Nears The U.S. Shore
May 23, 2008
Sacramento (dbTechno) - Researchers have come out and stated that corrosive, acidified ocean water is now just 20 miles from the shore on the U.S. West Coast.
Researchers have stated that this could pose a major problem for ecosystems out west, all the way from up north in Canada down to the border of Mexico.
Researchers stated that the acidified ocean water is now closer to the shore than ever.
One of the researchers, co-author Burke Hales stated that “The water that will upwell off the coast in future years already is making its undersea trek toward us, with ever-increasing levels of carbon dioxide and acidity.”
This could cause a major crisis in marine ecosystems.
