Major Dinosaur Fossil Discovery Announced In Utah
June 18, 2008
Phoenix (dbTechno) - The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has announced that they have discovered many fossilized dinosaur bones in Utah.
The dinosaur fossils were found in southeastern Utah in a quarry which was said to be very close to Hanksville, Utah.
The excavation was handled by a team from the Burpee Musuem of Natural History.
The discovery is around 150 million years old, as the bones are of various different dinosaur skeletons, tree trunks, animal burrows, etc.
The team announced that the excavation also revealed, at the very least, 4 long-necked sauropods, two carnivorous dinosaurs, and a herbivorous Stegosaurus.
This could lead to clues as to what life was like in that region when dinosaurs ruled.
The site will close in July until next year when a team can further excavate.
