NASA Climate Scientist Warns Congress Of Global Warming
June 24, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - NASA climate scientist James Hansen went before Congress to testify, stating that the time is now to fight climate change. He warned of the things to come if global warming is not stopped.
Hansen has proposed a couple of things to Congress, such as a tax on carbon emissions.
The belief is that by starting a carbon emissions tax, it would help reduce emissions and encourage companies and others to use renewable energy sources.
Hansen stated to Congress “We have to level with the public that there has to be a price on carbon emissions.”
He also spoke in length about those who spread false information in regards to climate change. He stated that these people in the fossil fuel industry should be prosecuted.
Hansen stated it is nearing the time that it will be too late to prevent global warming.
