Researchers Develop Microscope That Can Fit On A Fingertip
July 29, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Researchers from the California Institute of Technology have managed to develop a miniature microscope that is small enough to sit on your fingertip.
The amazing aspect of this is that the microscope has an amazing amount of magnifying power.
It operates without any lenses and could be used for a variety of things, such as looking at blood samples, checking water supplies, etc.
The new microscope can be mass-produced for just $10, and combined a computer chip with micro-fluidics to function.
The belief is that in the future, the microscope could be used to be put in a cell phone, among other functions.
