Satellite, Airplane Technology Used In New Artificial Heart

Washington (dbTechno) – French scientists have unveiled a working prototype of a fully artificial heart that could save the lives of many people around the world.

The fully artificial heart is based on various technology that is commonly used in satellites as well as airplanes.

Researchers believe that the device could lead to saving the lives of millions of people.

The creators of the heart are Carmat, and were funded by the European space and defense group EADS.

The device was presented during a press conference on Monday, and has the ability, with sensors, to regulate heart rate and blood flow.

The technology as to how it uses these sensors to check pressure is the same as in an airplane or satellite.

The design has been tested only animals to this point, as  they need approval before testing it out on humans.
