Boston (dbTechno) – NASA has a major problem on their hands as the Mars rover Spirit is stuck in the soft soil of the red planet.
The Mars rover Spirit has managed to sink into the ground on the planet, with the wheels becoming stuck.
NASA has stated that the wheels of the rover Spirit are about halfway into the ground to this point.
Instead of trying to force the Spirit out of the soil, NASA is being very careful with how they go about fixing the problem.
Back at their Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, they are going to use a test rover to try and simulate the problem.
By doing this, they will also be able to have time to study the soil around the Spirit up on Mars.
Once they have everything figured out, they will then work to try and drive the Mars rover Spirit out of the hole it has gotten itself in.
NASA will temporarily suspend all driving of the Spirit until they finish all their work.
You need to send up a guy in a jeep with a winch. Next time think bigger tires=more floatation. Or deflate the tires and then re-inflate them after you are out of the sand. 4x4ing on an alien world we should take the lessons learned here with us. After all driving off road is NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.. ROFLMAO
Take your car and drive it thru some blow sand. You will then know how the rover is feeling. Bring a shovel, jack and some boards to put under the tires. GOOD LUCK I will pray that God will help you in this problem.
