Boston (DbTechNo) – There is evidence that suggests that California could be the site of a possible earthquake.
There have been reports of tremors along part of California’s San Andreas fault that according to researchers, could be the calm before the storm.
When this supposed quake would actually take place is not known, but what is known is that 1 is potentially not far off.
Researchers state that they do not know what is causing the tremors, but whatever is causing them, is not volcanic.
Since 2004, there have been more than 2000 tremors reported by researchers from the University of California, Berkeley, who say that as of late, tremors have been recorded more frequently.
“The persistent changes in tremor suggest that stress is now accumulating more rapidly beneath this part of the San Andreas Fault, which ruptured in the … magnitude 7.8 Fort Tejon earthquake of 1857,” seismologist Robert Nadeau and colleagues wrote in their report, published in the journal Science.
