Energizer is working to raise awareness of the dangers of “button” batteries.
These small batteries, resemble buttons, are easily swallowed by small children.
The tiny batteries that are prevalent in so many of the current electronic devices can get stuck in a child’s esophagus.
Button batteries can cause internal burning and bleeding when swallowed.
Children do not usually choke when they swallow the batteries, due to their small size.
The types of devices, cell phone and remotes, that require the button batteries are often in reach of children.
Energizer is trying to get the word out about the potential dangers of these batteries. Energizer wants parents to be proactive in keeping devices that use the button batteries out of the reach of small children.
