Venus Used To Be Exactly Like Earth
November 29, 2007
Boston (dbTechno) - According to reports, Venus is a twin of Earth as it use to be exactly like our planet in that it could have harbored life until global warming destroyed its chances.
Scientists have found based on readings from the Venus Express space probe that Earth and Venus are actually extremely alike. They are now convinced that the planets were once more similar than anyone could ever imagine.
The findings have been published in the journal Nature.
Venus is the closest planet to Earth in terms of size, mass, distance, as well as chemical make-up.
Venus is not your typical Earth in any way right now though as it is made up of a rocky desert surface hot enough to melt lead. It was not always like this though as evidence of lightning has been found on the planet.
They believe that Venus may have had oceans just like Earth in the past. The surface of the planet cannot contain water now though. New evidence is showing that an amazing amount of water may have been lost.
They stated that Venus may have lost at least up to an Earth’s ocean in amounts.
