India Helps Israeli Spy Satellite TESCAR
January 21, 2008
Jakarta (dbTechno) - Israel has successfully launched a new spy satellite on Monday with the help of India. The new spy satellite has many around the world stating that it would likely allow Israel to watch Iran’s nuclear program far more closely.
The new spy satellite launched by Israel is called the TESCAR satellite. It was launched on top of a rocket from India out of the Sriharikota Launching Range in India.
The satellite is very sophisticated as it has the ability to use radar to literally create images of objects on earth. This can be done during the day or in the dead of night, regardless of weather conditions on earth.
It can also create image with an incredibly high resolution of 10 centimeters.
The current Israeli satellite, Ofek, does not have the ability that the TESCAR has since it uses cameras instead of radar.
Israel Aircraft Industries developed the satellite which weighs in at 300 kilograms. It launched at 0345 GMT with the first images coming back a few hours later.
This could very easily lead to Israel being put under heavy surveillance, making a huge threat to the Jewish state.
