Microsoft Allows Users To Tour Space With WorldWide Telescope
May 13, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - Microsoft Corp. has announced a new plan to allow users to tour space on their computer. The new free software application WorldWide Telescope is said to do just that.
The new software is going to allow everyone to easily explore space, checking out galaxies, star systems, distant planets, and much more.
The WorldWide Telescope relies on over 12 terabytes of data from sources such as the Hubble Space Telescope, Spitzer Space Telescope, and others.
Microsoft has aimed at all users with this new software, meaning anyone from a novice to an expert will find great use out of it.
It will allow you to locate anywhere you desire, zoom in, out, etc.
Microsoft has put up a test version of the software at WorldWideTelescope.org.
This puts Microsoft right up against Google Sky, a free extension of Google Earth.
