Pluto Joins New Class Of Drawf Planets, Plutoids
June 13, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has come out and stated that Pluto will join a new class of dwarf planets called Plutoids.
Pluto has been upset to say the least ever since it was demoted from the league of planets in our solar system.
The planet, according to the IAU, is a dwarf planet by definition.
It is also the prototype of what they are calling a new category of objects in the solar system.
The new objects were known as trans-Neptunians, but are now Plutoids.
The group consists of Pluto as well as Eris.
