North Pole Ice May Completely Melt Away This Summer

It is believed that due to climate change, all of the ice on the North Pole may melt away this summer.

Over the past years, the polar ice has steadily began to thin due to the rising temperatures through climate change.

The polar region is now mostly covered of a tinner single-year ice each year, far different from years when the ice would build up for years at a time with various layers.

Polar scientists now believe that for the first time, 2008 could represent the year that there will be absolutely no ice on Mars.

This will likely be the first year that boats, oil-drillers, etc. will be able to reach the pole without having their path blocked by ice.

In 2007, the melting of the ice came within just 700 miles of the pole.

This year could be the year that there ends up being no ice on the pole.
