Get Ready For Big Bang, Large Hadron Collider Working

The idea behind the Large Hadron Collider is to try to re-create what happened during the Big Bang, to help understand how our universe is made up, how it formed, etc.

The Large Hadron Collider was turned on for the first time on Wednesday morning.

Once the switch was flipped, the first protons were shot into the 17-mile tunnel.

The tunnel is located below the border of Switzerland and France, and is the largest and most powerful particle collider ever created.

This is being seen as the biggest science experiment of all time, and for good reason.

The $9 billion project has been put together so that scientists will be able to have a head-on collission with two beams of similar protons or ions.

The Large Hadron Collider is going to allow scientists to see exactly what happened when the Big Bang took place.

Many critics have come out in large numbers though to fight the turning on of the LHC.

The belief over the past few weeks by many is that the LHC could create a black hole, posing a major threat to mankind.

In the end though, it will likely help us answer the biggest question of all, how our universe formed.
