NASA Delays Hubble Repair Mission Until Next Year

September 30, 2008

NASA has announced that the shuttle mission planned to repair the Hubble space telescope has been delayed until next year.....Boston (dbTechno) - NASA has announced that the shuttle mission planned to repair the Hubble space telescope has been delayed until next year.

NASA was planning to send the space shuttle Atlantis up to the Hubble space telescope next month for a repair and upgrade mission.

This is not going to take place though, as the Hubble space telescope began to malfunction over the weekend, causing problems for NASA and the mission overall.

The malfunction will keep the Hubble space telescope from storing and transmitting any information back to Earth.

NASA has now stated that it is unlikely that they will be able to get the space shuttle Atlantis up to the Hubble space telescope until next year.

They may try to run Hubble on a back-up already installed, as they believe it could be back to normal in a few weeks.

They are now planning to have the mission launch in the middle of February, 2009.
