NASA Space Shuttle Endeavour Now Docked With The ISS
November 17, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - The NASA space shuttle Endeavour is now docked with the International Space Station.
Shuttle Commander Chris Ferguson was able to pilot the Endeavour to allow it to dock with the Harmony Node of the International Space Station.
The dock was complete at 5:01 p.m. EST and the astronauts were able to make it inside the Harmony Node at 7:16 p.m. EST.
The Exploration 18 team welcomed the STS-126 crew members once this took place.
The Endeavour crew is going to be spending two weeks at the ISS to carry out many key mission objectives.
One big celebration though is the 10th anniversary of the ISS, which is on November 20th.
The big goal though is to add to the ISS to allow it to house six astronauts instead of 3.
They will do this by installing new bedrooms, bathroom, water system, refrigerator, etc.
The first spacewalk is also set to take place on Tuesday.
