NASA Set To Make Some Noise With Space Shuttle Atlantis
March 26, 2009
Washington (dbTechno) - NASA is clearly getting set to make some noise as they are ready to put the space shuttle Atlantis out on the launch pad.
The plan is to get the space shuttle Atlantis all set up and out on the launch pad next Tuesday.
This will take place at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, putting Atlantis one step closer to firing up its rockets and making some real noise.
The goal is for the space shuttle Atlantis to blast off on May 12th on a mission to the Hubble Space Telescope.
Once the shuttle reaches the Hubble Space Telescope, they will attempt to repair it, and carry out some maintenance.
A transporter will be bringing out the space shuttle Atlantis and getting it on the launch pad.
The whole process takes time as they can only move it at around 1 mph, and for a 3-mile trip, that takes hours.
By 6:30 a.m. next Tuesday morning, Atlantis should be at the launch pad and ready for its 11-day mission to the Hubble Space Telescope.
