One More Day Before Endeavour Launch
July 10, 2009

Boston (DbTechNo) - There is one day to go before the space shuttle Endeavour blasts off into space, but weather may interfeer with the final countdown.
The launch is scheduled for 7:39 p.m. ET Saturday from Kennedy Space Center with the destination being the International Space Station.
During the final full day before launch, the space ship is fueled up to capacity, the loading of oxygen and nitrogen tanks, and other last minute checking of equipment.
The mission to the ISS is to bring equipment to complete Japan’s Kibo science lab complex, and to bring a new astronaut to the mix, that being Tim Kopra.
For a successful launch to take place, at least 10 consecutive minutes are required for Endeavour to safely blast into space, but there is only a 40% chance of this actually happening.
“If there’s a hole in the clouds, we’ll go for it,” Steve Payne, NASA test director, said Thursday. “If not, then we’ll go for it the next day. But we would rather get it done on Saturday.”
If the weather does not cooperate for a Saturday launch, the next possible launch time is late on Sunday.
