Mars Lander Ready To Dig For Ice
June 2, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - After a couple of days of digging in the soil and collecting for tests, the Mars Lander is ready to dig into the ice material that they found underneath the soil.
The pictures show smooth, bright patches beneath the ice that all agree looks just like ice. The scientists named the patches Holy Cow, because that is what they all said when they saw them. They also notices white specs in the soil that could be salt or ice. They will use the robotic arm to dig again on Tuesday.
