Apple stressed that they learned a great deal with the first iPhone, stating that the new 3G iPhone is thinner, has a black plastic back, solid metal buttons, and more.

The same display, camera, a flush headphone jack, and improved audio are also included in the new model.

Apple quickly showcased the huge bonus to the new iPhone, 3G support, allowing for downloads 2.8 times faster than on the EDGE network.

Another major announcement was that of GPS support, allowing the iPhone to do full tracking such as driving down a street.

Enterprise support will also be fully built-in, as will application support.

The roll-out of the 3G iPhone will expand in the next few months, with 70 countries in total being included.

To top it all off, the price. Apple has revealed that the 8GB 3G iPhone will retail for $199, while the 16GB version will be available in white for $299.

The launch is scheduled to kick off on July 11 in 22 countries, with the maximum price set at $199 USD around the world for the 8GB 3G iPhone model.
