Researchers focused on brown fat, also known as good fat, as a means of possibly treating obesity problems around the world, as well as type 2 diabetes.

Throughout the study that was published in the New England Journal of Medicine, researchers from the Joslin Diabetes Center in Syracuse, New York made some amazing discoveries.

What they found was that this brown fat is most commonly developed throughout childhood.

Once you become an adult, your body will no longer develop this brown fat.

Researchers want to know though now if they can develop a treatment that will spark the production of this particular type of fat.

They are getting closer to making this a reality as they found that people of normal weight were most likely to retain the greatest amounts of brown fat.

Those who had the least were people who were obese, and those with blood sugar problems.

From here, the hope is that scientists can use this research to spark brown fat development, alloing people to speed up their metabolism and lose weight with brown fat.
