Ribbit Launches Web Telephone Platform

Boston (dbTechno) – A start-up from Silicon Valley by the name of Ribbit Corp. has unveiled a new technology platform which is going to allow developers to create and implement web telephony in various forms.

The new plan is going to allow developers to place the web telephone platform in anything from business software, to social networks such as MySpace and Facebook.

Ribbitplans to sell their own services directly to consumers starting in Q1 2008. They are also working with over 600 outside developers as they create their own voice applications.

The vice president for strategy and business development for Ribbit, Crick Waters, stated that “A developer can take telephony out of our sandbox and bring it to where you live.”

Developers do not need to be experts to build services for web telephony thanks to this platform.

There are 30 corporations currently testing the service which costs $25 per month per person and will be available to Salesforce.com users in Q1 2008. This service will allow workers to dial clients via the internet from inside applications and then store client calls automatically, as well as voicemail transcripts.
