Apple Ships MacBook Air To Customers, Delays Apple TV

Boston (dbTechno) – Apple has kicked off shipping for its extremely thin MacBook Air notebook, while disappointing some with the Apple TV update, which will allow users to view and rent iTunes movies directly from their TV.

The MacBook Air is being touted by Apple as the thinnest notebook in the world.

At its thinnest point it is only 0.16 inches, while at its thickest it is at only 0.76 inches.

The MacBook Air features a 13.3 inch LED-backlit widescreen display.

It also features a full-size backlit keyboard, a built-in iSight video camera, multi-touch trackpad, and more.

In terms of power the MacBook Air features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at either 1.6GHz or 1.8GHz, and has 4MB L2 cache, and 2GB of RAM.

It also includes an 80GB hard drive, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.

Apple has began to ship this out to consumers with the price point set at $1,799.

Apple has also announced that they have delayed the launch of the new Apple TV software update.

Apple will make the new update a free download to existing Apple TV owners in a few weeks. This new feature will allow users to rent movies on the iTunes Store directly from their TV.

The rentals will be DVD-quality and will be priced around $2.99, or $3.99.
