Dell is more focused now on getting consumers into retail stores rather than having them simply visit the mall kiosks.

Dell opened up the mall kiosks in 2002 due to lagging sales, but has now realized it may have been a mistake.

Dell wanted to give people the opportunity to touch the products before they purchased them directly from the company. Dell has since moved into retail stores though.

They wiill close shop on 140 U.S. kiosks.

They stated the kiosks outside of the U.S. would stay open.

Tony Weiss, VP of global consumer business for Dell stated “This move fits in with how our braod global retail strategy is evolving.”
