NASA Gives Green Light To Feb. 7 Launch For Atlantis

Orlando (dbTechno) – NASA officials stated on Wednesday that the Feb. 7 launch date for the space shuttle Atlantis to the International Space Station has been authorized pending repairs.

Engineers at NASA are currently working as hard as they can to repair problems with the cooling system hose of Atlantis before launch.

The mission for Atlantis is to bring the $2.1 billion European Columbus science module to the International Space Station.

Back in December, NASA was forced to delay the launch of Atlantis twice due to problems with the fuel gauge.

NASA engineers believe that the problem with the fuel gauge has now been resolved.

Earlier this week though the problems with the cooling system hose were found.

NASA’s shuttle program manager Wayne Hale though is optimistic, “Frankly, I’m very optimistic we’ll come to a good conclusion to not replace the hose. But if we have to, we will do what we need to do.”
