Boston (dbTechno) – Capcom has confirmed rumors, which go along with reports stating that Devil May Cry 4 takes 20 minutes to install on the Sony PS3, compared to zero time on the Xbox 360 as that version requires no install.
Devil May Cry 4 installs 5 GB of data on PS3. According to Capcom, it really will take over 21 minutes to install the game on your PS3. This means, if you pick up Devil May Cry 4 Wednesday, do not expect to get it running within the first five minutes you walk in the door, go make lunch first.
What Capcom did state though is that once it is installed on the PS3, Devil May Cry 4 has load times similar to that of old Super Nintendo Games, meaning no load times at all.
Capcom stated that gamers will be impressed of how fast the game loads.
This goes against a past report from a Future Publishing journalist who stated that the PS3 version has the same load times as the Xbox 360 version, even after the 20+ minute install.
BS… this means if my drive fills up I”d have to delete this or some other games off the hard drive, and when I want to play again, I’ll ahve to wait another fraking 20min to install again, and also delete other games off the HD.
XBOX360 never needs installs and I never complain about load times. Freaking Bluray is that slow? I hope HD-DVD wins as it is a more superior format, way cheaper too.
If i had a very large hard drive for the ps3 and was a DMC hardcore fan, i would definitely accept the install if it meant no load times.
However, from what i have heard from other articles, is that the install on the ps3 is completely OPTIONAL.
Meaning, you can accept a 20 min install time and 5gb of your hard drive if you want no load times.
Or, you can just play it like every normal game will normal load times here and there.
Not sure how the load times on the “uninstalled” ps3 version compare to that of the xbox 360 version.
It would be interesting to find out.
I don’t mind waiting 20 mins for the install, it’s a non-issue. Fast load times are great by-the-way. If I really need more hard drive space I’ll just go get a bigger one, that simple. I don’t keep a whole lot on it anyways.
It’s not Blu-ray that is slow. HD-DVD is already dead, o find another shoulder to crry on. Superior my ass. You get what you pay for.
u ignorants dont know shit,ps3 can load faster when playing that game.
tthe 360 u whait like some minutes,on the PS3 u whait 2 secons,,,,thats why u M$ fanboys ;he ps3 can load faster.
is got nothing to do with Blue-ray…ignorant GITS
so instead of a few 10 second load screens on the 360 you get to sit thru 20 MINUTES of a load screen on the ps3? what a joke. no thanks, sony….
ha haaa ^^^^ what an idiot.
hey idiot that means u can intall the game in the PS3 and u don wait for loading times…u got to wait like 30 secons on 360 and 0 on the ps3.
What about the 360? I think its an even greater offense for 33% of console owners to end up with the RROD where you then have to ship it back and wait days to weeks for a replacement to be shipped back, isn’t that much worse than having to wait 20 min to install a game? With that scenario you can’t do anything with your system at all and the difference here is that the PS3 DMC4 is “adding” the benefit of faster load times during the 20 min wait where the 360 is “fixing” a problem with the design of the system by shipping a replacement. So when you compare the two worlds I would take the 20 min install of the PS3 version over having a dead system any day.
omen and evil monkey – either way you’re sitting thru load times. either you sit thru 10, 20-second load screens or ONE 20 minute load screen. it’s funny that load times are somehow supposed to be a selling point for a $600 toy when it’s never been an issue in the past. If it were, nintendo (carts) would never have been undone by sony’s psx (disks). stop listening to the sony pr. a few seconds of load times have never been an issue and, by capcom’s own advice, serves as a good time to grab a bite to eat, altho the 360 load times are so low you never get a chance to get out of the room before you’re on to the next level. it’s funny you claim the 360 has terrible hardware when the sony was successfully sued for shoddy ps2 hardware, and sony STILL refuses to give ANY number involved as it will make them look bad. And yet, the ps2 went on to sell a 100 million (altho most were replacements that sony counted as “sales” whereas MS doesn’t count their replacements as “sales”) face it; the cell and bluray is a joke. didn’t sony promise gaming nirvana w/o load times, playing in 4D, while “jacking into the matrix” via PSN? i won’t even address the silliness of using up 5GB of your hdd for ONE game. at this rate you’ll be out of room in no time.
me,
SHUT up u dont know crap
Omen, your a fool and a PS3 fanboy. You show your lack of intelligence with everything you write.
